The Magic School Bus is a children's TV series on the channels PBS Kids and Discovery Kids. It was about a nice teacher named Ms. Frizzle who takes a few kids into a "Magic School Bus" and go on field trips together. It was an educational show for little kids that was popular in the 1990's and early 2000's. The show premiered on PBS Kids on September 10, 1994 and ended in December 6, 1997. It went on reruns on the PBS Kids Channel from 1997-2007, as well as on Qubo and The Hub from 2007-2014. The show did fairly well during production, until the "Evil Purple Menace" named Barney from Barney & Friends took over the show in 2009.
Description[]
The Magic School Bus was about a few kids in school and their teacher named Ms. Frizzle who go on random field trips together. The kids are named Arnold, Ralphie, Dorothy Ann, Wanda, Carlos, and Tim. They go to different field trips such as the solar system, the stomach, the human body, the dinosaurs, a sound museum, in a tree, and many other places. Arnold is always afraid of each field trip because they're always going to weird places.
Critical reception[]
The Magic School Bus received mainly positive reviews by most parents, teachers, and children. However, there were some people that didn't like the show, but it still had good ratings. Fortunately, the show was a true example of a good children's educational show because it taught little kids about science and history, and because it was both educational while being entertaining at the same time. It was a good example of a children's educational TV show from the 90's.
